Venture Ideas

Pet Sitters and Dog Walkers Service:
This is a service provider who takes care of a pet or other animal at its own home. You can hire whoever you trust. Someone who is licensed, well trained, and has a pet first aid certificate. The target customers are for disabled clients and elderly and for anyone going for a vocation. This service is really beneficial for disabled clients and elderly because they can help exercise and care for their pets as they are unable to do so. What’s excellent about home services are it can reduce stress on pets because pets are cared for in their own homes, they do not need to be transported anywhere, minimizes exposure to illness, and the pet won’t have to adapt to a new environment. This service is very convenient, all you have to do is give them a call and set an appointment. The cost for this service is negotiable between the pet sitter and the owner, depending on the length of time.

Fresh Sushi All Day
Are you one of those people who get hungry during the middle of the night? Are you one of those people who crave sushi at 2am? I understand how it feels like to starve at 2AM in the morning. This service is perfect for people who always starve in the morning, people who don’t have access to a car, and people who absolutely love sushi. This service can provide customers with fast and free delivery with minimum charges and fresh sushi guarantee. The price of the sushi is affordable because they want the customer to taste the best sushi town and having to pay at a relatively low price. I think this service is great because the cost and freshness can really attract and satisfy a lot of customers. However, having large amount of fresh seafood is a bit difficult, so we try to limit the flavors. Another problem is getting the food safe certificate. The start up cost would be relatively high, which would cost the price of the sushi be a bit higher, compared to other places. This would not stop customers from ordering because they understand how fresh our sushi is and we understand no one would want to spend money eating stale seafood.

  1. I really like your first idea especially how you explained that it'll help your target market. The problem with this idea is that it would be hard to get costumers because there's not a lot of people that own a pet and many of them don't want a sitter. Therefore, how would you attract customers to allow you to sit their pets?

The 2nd idea is really good because resturants that tend to open 24/7 are fastfood stores so more costumers would actually go order sushi if there's an actual 24/7 sushi store. Limiting flavours could help your business if you remove the disgusting flavours. How would you be able to get fresh seafood everytime you serve a costumer?

  2. The first idea is very well thought out. As your target market, I think you could expand to people who are way too busy with work and have no time to walk their dogs as well. How would you advertise to people since some don't trust strangers with their pets?

I absolutely love the second idea, I am also one of those people who crave random things late in the night. As for running a 24/7 sushi bar, I think it would be super stressful and very hard to advertise to start out.

  3. I'd like to add onto Matthew's comment in regards to the pet sitters/dog walkers service. Because you will have hired certified trainers/walkers, perhaps you could hold group lessons on dog walking to first get your word out. As a dog owner, I know for a fact that people need to properly train a dog in order for him/her to walk properly on a walk. If your service's trainers teach a group, they will tell their friends and it'll become a chain (word of mouth) and you'll become more trustworthy.

The idea of a 24/7 sushi bar is a creative idea and I know that people might crave food at 2am. However, what happens by 5am? I don't think it'd be worth it to be opened so late because you'd have to supply more food material and hire the people to make the sushi and run the store. Also, it would be stressful.

  4. I really like your first idea and it is also do-able but I don't think you will attracting a lot of customers. As you said that the target market would be elderly, I don't think you should only keep this as a target market because as far as I know, a lot of elder people pass their time by playing with their pets, take them for a walk. Having something to do in order to pass their time is one of the most important thing for them. But it could definately work for disabled people who loves to own a pet but can't really take care of them.
Opening a sushi restaurant for 24/7 could be a little stressful and expensive because how will you be able to get fresh seafood at the middle of night? what if its 6 in the morning? keeping the restaurant open so late and paying the workers could be expensive. I don't think it's worth it.

  5. The pet-caring service sounds very promising, but there will be alot of training and preparation involved, because most people (elderly) will not be too willing to let someone untrained take care of their pets. Alot of work will be involved, and since most elderly do not work, choosing them as a target market might not be as profitable.

A sushi restaurant that delivers at night could be a bit difficult to manage as a student. The idea is great but in reality most people just don't eat that late and are usually asleep by then.

  6. The pet service seem interesting, but how are you going to advertise the service? Because there are many other pet services out there so there might be a competition. Usually, elders who have a pet have a pet service that they are familiar too so it might be difficult to let elderly trust your business.

The sushi idea is great! The only problem might be is that your business won't be well-known. This would affect the food freshness because it has been outside for too long.

  7. I think the sushi idea is quite original because it's true that not many places offer sushi late at night. Also, the delivery service adds to it. Just have to promote and attract customers.

  8. The first idea is quite brilliant because it will attract many consumers. Your idea is quite unique compared to other competitors. Overall I can see this venture idea go very far because it is lacks competition. Some problems are start up costs.

Your second idea is not new but you could beat the competition by promotion and top notch service. I can see this idea at a stand still point in profits because the venture idea is relatively difficult to attain. Some problems are costs in promotion.

  9. I really like your first venture idea it’s very unique and helpful towards the consumers you’re targeting. It would also have a downfall because some people don’t like strangers to come in their homes or even take care of their pets. I really like your second venture idea. Although I’m not a big sushi eater wouldn’t it less profitable for sushi lovers if you cut down sushi choices? If your business is 24/7 how can your costumers be insured that even in the middle of the night your meat is still fresh?

  10. I think it’s great to spend time with pets but I was just wondering, will you be the one providing the service? Or will you hire someone to work for you or help you out?

Your second venture idea I’m sure a lot of people can relate to but I was just wondering how you’re going to operate such a business because you’ll surely be needing your sleep before school the next morning.

Overall, I think you have some good ideas Nina. I’m very interested in how you’ll be carrying on with them. Good luck with your venture! :)
